Through deliberate play and experimental engineering, I create sculptures and installations that fuse fibers to found objects. My work aims to provide humorous solace, while encouraging a sense of curiosity towards the strange and mundane. A childhood spent in forests, flea markets, and Renaissance faires shaped my love of fascinating objects, be they from nature, machine, or human hand.
I was born in New Orleans, raised in coastal Massachusetts, and am currently based in Brooklyn. When I’m not making art I’m memorizing pi, playing in riverbanks, cooking spicy food, and finding four-leafed clovers. I graduated from Salem State University in 2020, where I studied Sculpture and Economics. Currently, I am pursuing an MFA at Pratt Institute with a focus in Sculpture. reach me at: [email protected] or on instagram at: morganpetitpas |
